Definition of Instructor Caring

Instructor caring is a nursing students’ awareness of a mutual and reciprocal connection between the self and the instructor. A connection that creates transformation, in which the student becomes aware of his/her potential and is supported in personal and professional growth. This connection enables the student to search for meaning and wholeness and to grow as a caring professional nurse (Gillespie, 2005; Wade & Kasper, 2006).
