Not in the mood to care today?

There are times in life when you may feel burned out or stressed out. That is okay, this is life. Caring does not occur all the time, it occurs moment to moment (Boykin & Schoenhoefer). Go within yourself and understand why you do not feel like caring at that moment, but be aware that your student may need you to exhibit caring for just a second, and that this second will have significant meaning for them.
Soooo, count to 10 (1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10) and reflect on how you can positively react to this student. Because it only takes a moment to make a difference in someone’s life.
